New members in our group: welcome Zhongcan, Xu, and…

Li Zhongcan (Southwest Jiaotong University), Xu Yan (Southwest Jiaotong University), and Mingzhuang Hua (Southeast University) joined our team as visiting PhD students.
Li Zhongcan works on high-speed railway network delay propagation. His interests include the technologies in the NLP and graph neural network fields.
Xu Yan focuses on applying machine learning and optimization methods for passenger flow analytics in urban rail transit networks.
Mingzhuang Hua’s research focuses on the demand prediction and resource allocation of shared mobility.

We wish them a productive and fun time during their stay with us! 😊

On September 15th, 2021, Francisco Antunes successfully defended his Ph.D. thesis entitled “Active Learning Metamodels for Transport Simulation Problems.”

BOON Officially Kicked Off

On June 3rd, 2021, we officially kicked off project BOON: Behaviour Oracle for always-On electric mobility.

On April 29th, 2021, Niklas Petersen successfully defended his Ph.D. thesis entitled “Multi-model bus arrival prediction with intelligent handling of uncertainties.“

New member in our group: welcome Frederik!

Frederik Boe Hüttel joined our group last March 1st, 2021, as a Ph.D. student within the project BOON (Behavior Oracle for always-ON electrical mobility), where he will focus on applying Active Learning, Causality, and Censored modeling methods to predict EV charging demand through space and time with uncertainty.

We wish him a productive and fun time during his stay with us! 🙂

MLSM Group at TRB2021: 4 papers

100th Transportation Research Board Annual Meeting (TRB 2021), originally programmed to be held in Washington, D.C., was this year conducted as a virtual event throughout January 2021. Our group contributed with four interesting papers. Check out below for more details.

We are happy to announce the 2nd edition of the course on the MOOC platform edX called Leveraging Urban Mobility Disruptions to Create Better Cities, starting on 19 Jan 2021, featuring the members of our group prof. Francisco Pereira and prof. Carlos Lima Azevedo! It is offered in collaboration with MIT and other international partners. New member in our group: welcome Antonios!

Antonios Koutounidis joined our group as a Research Assistant in December 2020. He is working on creating the supply road network of Greater Copenhagen for the SimMobility simulation tool. He is also working on energy behavior analysis of electric vehicles owners and on the EV charging location problem.

We wish him a productive and fun time during his stay with us! 🙂
